Breaking barriers

In India, cricket is sometimes regarded be a religion because of its extraordinary power to bring people from all walks of life together. However, hearing disabled fans have not been able to enjoy the fun and excitement of cricket.

Collaborative power with Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh is well-known for his charity work and his legendary game on the cricket pitch. Vicks in partnership with Yuvraj Singh has decided to produce a cricket anthem that will be more impactful than words. This agreement is a sign of our mutual dedication to bringing happiness and excitement to cricket, and other sports, to all fans, hearing or not.

Sign language cricket anthem

The cricket anthem in sign language is a creative use of visual language to convey the enthusiasm of the game, rather than just a recitation of the traditional anthem. Working with professionals in sign language interpretation, the goal of the anthem is to make the hearing-impaired people feel as though they are a part of the game—from the excitement of a six to the accuracy of a Yorker.

Impact on the hearing-impaired community

For the community of people with hearing impairments, the project has the potential to be revolutionary. The sign language anthem guarantees that they too may fully partake in the national celebration that cricket creates by giving them a way to connect with the emotion and intensity of the game.
